In an endeavour to honour the para-badminton players Arjuna awardees Parul Parmar, Pramod Bhagat and Manoj Sarkar along with Palak Kohli, Krishna Nagar, Tarun Dhillon, and Suhas L.Y. who are going to represent India at Tokyo Paralympics, Excellia School hosted a press event wherein Mr Sanjay Saraswat – Exec. Director, SAI, Mr. Anandeswar Pandey, Treasurer, Indian Olympic Association, Ms. Deepa Malik, President, Paralympic Committee of India and Mr. Prabhakar Rao, Chairman of, Badminton Association of India virtually graced the event as special guests.
The program highlighted the journey of these players and their win over the odd circumstances and hurdles in life to reach the pinnacle of success. Their coach Dronacharya Awardee Mr. Gaurav Khanna expressed his thankfulness to the school’s Director Mr. Asheesh Pathak for providing a firm platform for these players to practice in the school infrastructure and expressed his optimism to win in the Paralympics.
The program proceeded with rounds of interaction with the press people both on the physical platform as well as on virtual mode. The guests wished the players all the success for the games. The Director Mr. Asheesh Pathak expressed his good wishes to the players. The Head of Excellia Sports Academy Mr. Praveen Pandey dedicated the poem “divy hain hum” to these players.
The Principal Mrs. Sonia Vardhan thanked the dignitaries for sparing their invaluable time to boost the spirit of the players and proposed a vote of thanks for one and all present there. The school’s General Manager Mr. Shekhar Varshney, teaching staff, players and helping staff was present on the occasion to make the event a resounding success.
